About Tim

Tim Hurley is Lincoln Electric’s global segment director for the transportation industry. He began his career with Lincoln Electric in 1986 and held various technical sales and sales management roles in the United States for over 30 years. During that time, his primary responsibilities included interacting with and supporting welding applications for automotive OEM and Tier-One fabricators.

Tim assumed the global industry segment role in 2016. In this position, he is responsible for driving Lincoln Electric’s development of new products and industry-leading solutions to address the challenges of transportation industry customers. His primary focus in that role now is on emerging electric vehicle applications and aluminum joining.

Tim has been a board member and technical chairman for various American Welding Society chapters in the past, as well as speaking at numerous automotive industry forums and conferences. He recently joined The Aluminum Association as a member of the Aluminum Transportation Group (ATG). Tim is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Physics.
