MACOMB, Mich., August 29, 2024 – Last week, Baker Industries (the “Company”), a Lincoln Electric company, had the honor of welcoming U.S. Congressman John James and U.S. Senator Gary Peters’ Regional Director, Jen Swift, to its Macomb manufacturing campus. Both visits focused on the critical contributions being made by Baker Industries and Lincoln Electric Additive Solutions to the U.S. Navy’s aircraft carrier program and other critical Pentagon initiatives.
During their visits, Congressman James, two members of James’ staff, and Swift toured four of the Company’s five facilities and were introduced to the advanced manufacturing technologies, including high-precision CNC machining, fabrication, and the Company’s proprietary large-scale 3D metal printing technology, used to meet the stringent demands of the Navy. They also got a behind-the-scenes look at ongoing construction and new equipment purchases driven by demand from the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, and other customers.
These visits provided an invaluable opportunity to showcase the Company’s advanced manufacturing capabilities and to highlight the significant contributions that the Company is making to both national defense and the local economy. The visits also emphasized the importance of continued federal support for suppliers that are essential to maintaining a robust and resilient defense industrial base.
“We are deeply appreciative of the ongoing support from Congressman John James, Senator Gary Peters, and their teams,” said Brian Baker, General Manager at Baker Industries. “Their visits underscore the critical role that companies like ours play in supporting national security and advancing cutting-edge manufacturing technologies. We look forward to continuing to deliver the superior solutions that our warfighters depend on.”
