MACOMB, Mich., March 2, 2022 – Baker Industries, a Lincoln Electric Company, is proud to formally announce its sponsorship of the Formula SAE® (FSAE®) teams at Oakland University and Lawrence Technological University.
FSAE is an SAE International program that challenges student groups at universities worldwide to showcase and enhance their creativity and engineering skills by designing and building their own small formula-style race car. With the help of their respective institutions and corporate sponsors like Baker Industries, the students spend around 8-12 months designing, fabricating, and developing their vehicles, eventually competing against other teams from across the globe. The vehicles are judged in a series of static and dynamic events, including technical inspection, cost, presentation, engineering design, solo performance, and high-performance endurance.
“As a leading force in the automotive industry and a trusted provider of design and engineering, fabrication, CNC machining, additive manufacturing, tooling, and more to its top OEM and Tier 1 manufacturers, Baker Industries is proud to support its next generation of leaders,” says Brian Baker, vice president and general manager. He continued, “Our partnership with the teams also allows us to meet with skilled students and introduce them to our organization.”
