Responsible for all areas relating to accounting and finance functions, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and maintaining a strong internal control structure.

This is a Full-Time position located in Macomb, MI.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the company’s financial planning and budget management functions.
  • Responsible for the financial affairs of the Company and prepares accurate and timely interim, monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statement with supporting schedules including reporting through Hyperion Financial Management templates and FDM reporting, for the guidance of upper management.
  • Responsible for the Company’s financial plans and policies, accounting practices, the conduct of its relationships with the finance community, fiscal records, lending institutions, customers, and suppliers, ensuring proper accounting treatment of revenue recognition on both a percentage-of-completion and completed contract basis.
  • Responsible for tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local, payroll and other applicable taxes, including tax incentives and related reporting at the State, Municipal, and Federal level.
  • Direct and coordinate debt financing and debt service payments with external agencies, when applicable.
  • Manage all SOX, FCPA, and corporate compliance issues as they pertain to accounting.
  • Oversee internal, 401K, and external audit requests and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
  • Identify and resolve accounting issues, fund requests, customer collections, vendor payments, and other items as required.
  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against forecast and budget including forecasting of cash flow.
  • Recommend, monitor and analyze benchmark department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Maintain the company’s system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets.
  • Manage other departments to verify transaction report data and issues.
  • Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
  • Report and respond to inquiries from Global Finance regarding financial results, forecasting, and special reporting requests.
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
  • Develops business plans for the Company including the establishment and implementation of short and long range business strategies, goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department’s goals and objectives.

qUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be familiar with Company quality objectives and play an active role in managing continuous improvement objectives.
  • Minimum of eight years prior supervisory experience in the accounting/financial reporting areas with a minimum of three years in a manufacturing environment.
  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance, CPA or MBA considered a plus.
  • Public accounting background, a plus.

Essential skills and experience

  • Sound technical accounting skills and prior experience interpreting technical accounting guidance
  • Must be knowledgeable in establishing and managing a strong internal control structure.
  • Must be knowledgeable in US GAAP.
  • Must be knowledgeable in analysis of profit drivers and working capital.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experienced with Epicor ERP and Hyperion Financial Management is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast paced work environment.
  • Educational, training, and experience requirements may be modified at the Managements Team’s discretion.

  • Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as the Company’s Plant Rules and Regulations that pertain to this job.
  • Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EHS procedures.
  • Know that the company EHS procedures are located on the ISO drive.
  • Immediately notify the Supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly, or if there are any questions regarding EHS procedures.
  • Attend required EHS training.
